Charity of the Month

The Lighthouse Rescue Mission began in 2004, as passionate volunteers and local churches sought a solution to the homeless issue in Tulare. Their mission is to embrace the poor and homeless with the compassion of Jesus Christ, as a beacon hope and healing for a changed life, helping them to find their way home. The initial effort produced the Lighthouse Women’s Shelter in 2006; in 2019, they expanded to offer a Men’s program and have various other programs to help people maintain a sober lifestyle and transition back into the workforce (Discipleship Academy, Lighthouse Industries, Workforce Supportive Housing). The Lighthouse Rescue Mission provide hot meals and overnight accommodations seven days a week, 365 days per year. They know there are no easy answers to resolve the needs of the homeless in our community, yet, through the continued support of our community and trust in God, they are excited about what comes next.
