Come ride on the Rocky Mountain Railway.  It will be departing nightly starting June 13th from the Porterville Seventh-Day Adventist church at Linda Vista and Highway 65 at 6 pm and ends at 8pm.  The final departure will be Saturday June 18 at 10:45 am.

DESCRIPTION:Jamie George will be in concert at the Porterville SDA Church (located at 1088 Linda Vista) on Wednesday\, March 23 at 7:00 p.m. This is a free concert and open to the community. \nFrom High School auditoriums to magnificent cathedrals\, from simple church programs to Carnegie Hall\, Jaime’s music can inspire\, uplift\, and bring peace. For over two decades\, through 15 albums and more than 2\,500 concerts in North and South America\, Europe\, Australia\, and Asia\, Jaime’s music has touched the lives of millions. It can touch yours too. \n\nABOUT JAIME JORGE\nBorn in Cuba in 1970\, Jaime began violin studies at age five. When he was ten\, Jaime’s family immigrated to the United States and he began lessons with the eminent violinist Cyrus Forough\, a student of the great David Oistrakh. \nJaime’s mom wanted him to be a violinist\, but he dreamed of becoming a missionary doctor. When he entered college in 1988\, he began to take all the pre-med courses\, in order to prepare to go to Medical School. In 1992\, Jaime was accepted into the University Of Illinois Medical School\, but into his second year of Medical School\, Jaime felt the Lord’s call to leave medical school for a life of service dedicated to music ministry. DESCRIPTION:Calvin Taylor\, music publisher\, concert performer\, and recording artist\, received the Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music\, Master of Music degree from The University of Michigan\, Diploma from the Grove School of Music\, and the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Kentucky. He has toured throughout the world\, playing in North and South America\, Europe\, the Far East\, and most recently Ukraine. As arranger and composer\, his music has been heard and enjoyed by untold thousands. \nDr. Calvin Taylor has arranged many sacred hymns and spirituals for piano performance\, as well as masterpieces for organ\, orchestra\, and choir. Well-known publications by Dr. Taylor include Spirituals for Piano\, The Patriotic Piano\, Spiritual Suite for Organ\, Grand Spirituals Collection\, and Five Spirituals for Organ. He is also the author of the hymns Perfect Peace and Sing Noel. \nDr. Calvin Taylor has prepared a unique forty-five minute sermon in songs featuring beautiful scripture passages followed by moving piano solos and congregational singing. This inspiring worship has been presented in hundreds of churches across America. \n“Calvin Taylor’s music and message from the Scriptures were truly an inspiration and introduction to grow in our awareness of the many ways we can worship the Living God.
