Crown Valley Youth Ranch is a nonprofit 501(c)3 ministry that is nondenominational. We serve the families of Tulare County through mentoring (often one on one) of children 6 to 18 years old. Kids come in for a 90 minute “session” every other week. The session is generally divided into 3 features: Counsel time, chore time and activity time. Activities include our horse program, petting zoo, gardening, arts and crafts, fishing, woodworking and home economics. We want to offer hopeful perspective for future life decisions while offering fun and life skill development. We share the gospel of Jesus Christ in everything we do and focus on building relationships over time.
Another feature of CVYR is horse rescue. We have seen the value of rehabilitation of horses because many of our kids can identify with what the horse has gone through. Horses that have been neglected, starved and abused give hope to kids who have been treated similarly. Both did not ask or deserve the situation that was cast upon them. Wounded horses and wounded children understand each other. In that relationship trust and hope can be experienced.
Everything is offered FREE OF CHARGE! No family pays anything for bringing their children.
