Charity of the Month

Avenue of Flags was founded 37 years ago, to honor the memory of veterans, by flying their casket flags at Visalia City Cemetery, every Memorial Day.
2,500 casket flags have been donated. About 65 flags added each year. To donate a deceased veterans’ flag, contact Visalia City Cemetery at 734-6181. Complete a simple one-page form donating the flag to our Association in perpetuity.
Each flag is stenciled with the name/branch of service of the veteran.
Every Memorial Day, veteran’s organizations, their friends, and volunteers in the community, put up the flags early in the morning, and take them at sundown.
The Memorial Day ceremony starts at 10 AM, Monday, May 25, 2026, and includes song, music provided by Redwood High School, Story of Service about a local veteran, dove release, prayer, laying of wreaths, rifle salute and Taps.
They need many volunteers to help raise 2,500 large flags for the Memorial Day Ceremony, at 6:30am.
They also need volunteers to help place 4,500 small gravesite flags, the Saturday before Memorial Day.
